Last Day in Capri
There’s not much going on today. We’ve spent most of the day just sleeping in and finishing up projects. It’s cloudy, cold, and looks like it could rain at any minute, so we’re not that sad about not going out. We’re going to go down into Capri later tonight, but since it’s cold, I’m probably not going to get to do the chair lift, which I wanted to do. Oh well.
I really hope that we will have more space in our hotel in Rome. We haven’t been able to take much out of our suitcase, so most of my clothes are wrinkled, and everything in my suitcase is out of place. I’m glad I brought wrinkle release spray! I think the guys want more space, too, because currently there are 4 guys in one room with most of the broadcasting equipment, and everyone else comes up here to use the computer.
Internet is another thing. I am ready to go to Rome to have more access to the Internet. Walking up to this room is getting old, and I hate feeling like I am taking up space in there room. There is an Internet cafe close to where our hotel is in Rome, and apparently you can do your laundry while you’re there. How convenient. Hopefully, I will be able to upload some of my pictures in Rome.
I am so excited about being in Rome tomorrow. I will let you all know if it is as beautiful as I think it is!

Interesting Day
Today was very interesting, to say the least…
We started off the day at Vesuvius, and that was pretty cool. But then we took the wrong train from Vesuvius to Pompeii, so we ended up sitting in the train station FOREVER waiting for another train to take us to the place we were supossed to be at. I lost track of how many trains we took yesterday.
Then we went to Pompeii, and I liked looking around at the ancient ruins. However, the ferry changed schedules, and we missed the last ferry home. We all thought we would be staying there for the night, but our professor managed to get us another boat. We were excited, even though we really wanted to ride Bill Gates’ boat, which is down here. When I say excited, we were until we actually say the boat. It was a little bigger than a fisherman’s boat. There were two of them, but with 10 students and 2 professors, that doesn’t help much. It ended up being a lot of fun, and we all were glad that this incident happened. I love riding on boats, and it made for a great story for when we return home.
Today was an example of how things can’t be controlled. Every trip I’ve ever been on has had things happen that are out of our control. I’m trying to be flexible and just go along with whatever happens. I think I’m doing a good job for the most part.
Tomorrow is our last day in Capri. I think most of us are planning on sleeping in, and then packing. I think some of us are also going to go down to the shops and eat dinner. I’ve liked being here, but I am very excited about going to Rome. I’m not looking forward to repacking, taking the trains, buses, and ferries, though, but I know it will be worth it when I’m in Rome! I hope that all of you are enjoying my blog, and you keep reading!ry

Friday in Capri
Today in Capri a few of us went down to Grotta Azzurra, which is beautiful! We looked at the water, and we were able to take a boat ride in the cave, which you have to lay flat in the boat to get in. The water was unbelieveably blue, and the boat drivers all sang a song. It felt like Pirates of the Caribbean. Our group recorded video and interviewed people at the Grotta Azzurra for our project, and we are going to edit it and write the script later tonight.
Even though I had fun, I am completely exhausted. We were going to take a bus, but after about 20 minutes of waiting, we gave up and walked. It was at least 4.5 miles, according to one of our professors, who is keeping track of how many miles we walk. And yesterday we walked at least 7 miles. Sheesh! I better be losing weight!
Last night after we rested, we went out to an Italian restaurant and then went to a local club. It was pretty fun, and when we got back home, we all just hung out and had fun. We’re going to go out and have fun tonight, too, after we work on our projects more, but we don’t know where we’re going yet. We usually walk around until we find a restaurant that looks good and isn’t rediculously expensive.
Tomorrow, we are going to Pompeii. Most of the people that I am with are going to climb Vesuvius, but I am just not that adventurous. I am looking forward to going to Pompeii and just exploring a new place.

Capri
I’m finally in Italy! It only took us a 9 hour flight from Chicago, two bus rides, a train ride, a ferry ride, and a taxi to get to Capri, but we’re here. The island is so beautiful, and our B&B is very nice, except for the tiny bathroom. We also don’t have internet in our room and our plugs don’t work well, so we ‘ve invaded the guys’ room.
Last night after we arrived, we unwound a little and relaxed, and then went out to dinner. I had a pizza that was really good and red wine. I’m not a big wine drinker, but it was good wine. Today, we’ve been running around Capri non-stop. We toured the island and looked at some of shops. Our group has decided we are doing a chair lift around the island, and we all really want a boat ride. We’re currently relaxing and resting before we go out to dinner and have more adventures tonight!
Riding buses and taxis is an adventure. The main goal is to go as fast as you can! Each ride is like a roller coaster or bumper cars. The roads are really tiny, too, and every time a car comes on the other side of the road, I think we’re going to hit it. I’ve just decided closing my eyes is easier and less scary.
Tomorrow is the day my group starts working on our video and news assignment. We’ve come up with a few ideas, but we still don’t know for sure what we’re doing. This should be interesting…

Italy
I am leaving for Italy on Tuesday, and I am so excited! I am trying to pack, which is almost impossible. I can’t decide what to take, and I know I have to leave room for stuff I buy over there. I have read all of the tour guides, and I am most looking forward to seeing the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican. I am also excited about just exploring a new place and seeing the Italian culture. Everything sounds like it will be beautiful! I am nervous about our assignments for the class because I don’t know any Italian! I hope that the plane ride goes by fast, but it probably won’t because I will want to be in Italy already!
I hope that you all will find my blog posts interesting! Keep reading!
